A behind-the-scenes tour of the University’s Botanical Collections
The Cambridge University Herbarium contains over one million dried plant specimens, including those collected by Charles Darwin on the Voyage of The Beagle.
During this tour, led by Professor Samuel Brockington (Curator, Botanic Garden), learn about the eighteenth-century origins of this collection, its importance for understanding the history of botany, and its uses for current groundbreaking research.
Enjoy the chance to see extensive holdings of historically important specimens, botanical illustrations and teaching materials that would have inspired Darwin and his peers.
