George Spooner’s pedal power helped to earn top spot on the University circuit this year.
College Darwin Entry year 2024 Course PhD in Chemistry Sport Cycling
The Darwin College student secured first place in the BUCS 25-mile Time Trial road classification, and was part of the winning team in the Goodwood Team Time Trial 4UP.
In Orkney, George was fifth in the International Games Road Race and sixth in the International Games Road Criterium, and he retained a Category 1 road license for a fourth year in a row.
George said: “UCAPP has made me so much stronger. I had never previously followed a specific S&C programme and so did not quite know what to expect.
“However, it has been extremely rewarding to see the improvements in my strength throughout the year and importantly I have felt these benefits on the bike too.”
