Anant Gupta has been serving up plenty of aces at home and abroad during the past academic year.
College Fitzwilliam Entry year 2022 Course Computer Science Sport Racketlon
The Fitzwilliam College student represented Great Britain at the Racketlon World Championships in Rotterdam, and was second in the men’s under-21 singles, first in the Elite teams section with GB, and second and GB captain in the under-21 teams’ category.
Anant broke into the top 40 of the international men’s sigles rankings, and was third in the singles at the Racketlon British Championships.
For the University, Anant earned individual and team wins at the Table Tennis Varsity Match, and was the second seed, earning a full Blue, at the Squash Varsity Match.
Other notable achievements included finishing third in the men’s singles at the Racketlon UK Tour Hertfordshire Open, and in the men’s doubles at the Racketlon World Tour Norwegian Open, and he had a highest national ranking of seventh in the men’s singles.
Anant said: “With Racketlon naturally requiring large time commitments, the suite of facilities, coaches and staff is nothing short of invaluable. I’m honoured to be part of the programme and this community of high-achieving athletes.”

Future goals and targets:
- To place in a podium position in men’s singles in Racketlon British Championships 2026
- To place in the top 16 in men’s singles in Racketlon World Championships 2026
- To be selected again and play for GB in the elite team at the Racketlon World Championships 2026
- To play in a higher seeded position in the Table Tennis Varsity Match, and to win the match
- To continue playing in the Blues team for the Squash Varsity Match 2026, and to win the match
- To play in Badminton Varsity Match 2026 and to win the match
- To place in the top 50 in Squash BUCS Individuals 2025.
