Cameron Deverill relished a season of development on multiple fronts.

College St Catherine's Entry year 2017 Course PhD Psychology Sport Orienteering

The St Catharine’s College smashed his 800m personal best at the Watford BMC Gold Standard, running 1min 52.78sec to earn a full athletics Blue with his first PB since 2021.

Having previously been with the third team, Cameron made the step up to race in the Blues’ Cross Country Varsity Match team, achieving a half-Blue, was selected for the combined Cambridge and Oxford Achilles team for their USA tour, and was second in the men’s 800m Varsity Match before injury brought a premature end to the track season. Cameron said: “UCAPP has significantly improved my athletics through tailored strength and conditioning sessions, providing me with the fitness to achieve new personal bests on the track – for the first time since 2021 – and the strength to improve over cross country during winter.

“Strength and conditioning sessions have also helped me stay injury-free and healthy, allowing me to compete more often and providing physio to minimise the effect of any niggles.”
