The Robinson College student finished fourth at the European Cross Country Championships to earn selection for GB, and the team won gold in Antalya, Turkey in December.
Poppy was eighth in the individual competition at the BUCS Cross Country Championships, a result that helped Cambridge University Hare and Hounds, for whom she was captain, win the team gold for the first time.
She also set a 5km personal best of 16min 11sec, beating her previous mark by 43 seconds. “The personalised strength and conditioning programmes provided by UCAPP have increased my strength and robustness, enabling me to stack more weeks of training without injury,” said Poppy.
“This support has enabled me to transition from a national-level athlete to making international teams.”
